Beginning with RSS

After reading this column on Poynter I've decided to start using RSS again. Previous experiences were dull and lacked the visual appeal that websites spent time honing for the user, that kind of steered me clear of RSS. But I'm going to try it again. Here we go. Using Bloglines.

Introduction to my journey

I'm a traditionally trained journalist. Former editor-in-chief of a college paper; small town reporter; big city reporter; etc...

My industry is in the toilet. I need more skills. Selling print articles just won't cut it in a future of computers and multimedia.

Sooooo.....

I am embarking on a journey to the center of coding and programming.

My goals:

Learn basic html

Grasp what program languages are used to present multimedia stories


Easy enough, right?
